“Fragile noises at the edge of collapse”

DAFAKE is the sound project of Antoine Marroncles (1983) a Paris-based experimental sound artist exploring the fragile equilibrium between noise, silence, and perception.

Working mostly with feedback loops, D.I.Y instruments, tape-loops, amplified found objects and modular systems, he sculpts sound as a living substance — unstable, meditative, and deeply spatial.
His practice draws from the minimalist lineage of electroacoustic music, cinematic soundscapes and the tactile immediacy of free improvisation.
Each performance or recording emerges as a balance between
control and surrender — a conversation between intention and
accident, structure and entropy.

Antoine is also a long-time collaborator of the Belgian Film-
Maker and Artist Antoine Roegiers, bringing his distinct style of music making to the visual and poetic world of Roegier’s surreal films since 2005.

His music has appeared on labels such as Discreet Archive,
Hard Return, Neus-318 and Histamine Tapes.

His new album SUTURE will be released in May on Eustress Tapes.
